Appraiser Rachel (L inds ey Shaw) receives the news th at her top-notched client wants t o buyo ut a small town's beloved librar y to build a resort a nd spa on the la nd. Rachel is completely agai nst the idea of leavin g NYC but loses t he argument to her boss. So Rache l packs her bags and flies out to California. During her first visit to the library she runs i nto writer, Jake (Der ek Theler), who is r esearching t he ta le of C aptain Black Bart' s hi dden treasures for his next novel . With hopes of savi ng the li brary, Mrs. Archer (Rac hel Ticotin), the librarian, pushe s Jake to show R achel what the library means to the to wn. Jake's alre ady got a lot on hi s plate with his rese arch and taking care of his niece, Ha iley (Ch iara Aurelia), and ne phew, Noah ( Max Page), for th e summer but he agrees to help out .
