This French family film is fille d wi th action, animals, adve nture, and suspense. The story i s told from a child';s viewpoint. One day, while playing in his secret tree ho use in the forest, 11-year old Anto ine spie s upon bank robbers stashing 40-mil lion francs worth of loot. One of the r obbers is th e father of his n ewest best friend Lisa, a 10-y ear old Can adian visitor. Not wanting to rat on her f ather, An toine instead moves th e mon ey to a different spot. Neither he, nor Lisa have a lo t of respe ct for their freque ntly absent fathers. The y find adults to be inherentl y hypocrit ical. Both kids do share a love of animals though. Togethe r, they decide to run away to Biarritz, a resor t town, an d start spen ding a little money.
